As promised, we’ve got a very snowy, white Christmas for the state of Utah. Snow will continue along the Wasatch front and mountains for much of the day today.
So far, I’ve almost got a foot of snow at my house on the Sandy bench. The storm overnight had trouble getting a lot of moisture to the mountains. That’s well indicated by Alta-Collins showing 7″ overnight, less than my house down the canyon. That should change today as the flow turns more northwesterly and allows for more lift. Snow should continue, heavy at times today with another 6-12″ for the mountains.
The forecast was for 1-2 FEET with pockets of heavier amounts. So far, we’ve already seen that for most locations, so it’s safe to assume most resorts will end in the 18-36″ range. Storm totals thus far:
Yesterday was fun! Today should be fantastic as well! The best gift a powder hound like me could ask for!
Merry Christmas, friends!
