The heart of the storm pushed through last night. The Northern Wasatch got hit the hardest. 2 FEET recorded at both Snowbasin and Powder mountain in the last 24 hours! 6-17″ being reported in the Cottonwoods/PC area in the past 24 hours. Together with the accumulations already seen Thursday night and Friday, the storm total forecast for 10-30″ was just about right. This was a very impressive storm in terms of water content. Many areas picking up 2-3″ of liquid. Our snowpack should be sitting pretty — we’ll take a full look at that tomorrow.
A break now thru early Tuesday. Late Tuesday thru Wednesday we’ll see moisture stream back into the area with high elevation snowfall, again of the dense variety. Probably not going to receive all that much during this period. The strong, cold core of the system will move into the area late Thursday into Friday. We could see more significant accumulations of much lighter, fluffier snow as we head into next weekend.
Not going to do a full post today as I’ve gotta get ready to get some POW! I’ll fully update tomorrow. Have fun!
