Quiet for Now

Warm days and cool nights will be the theme for the next week or more.  Typical Autumn weather.  Chances for more active weather possible after mid-month.

Ridge is in control with warm daytime temperatures.  Perfect weather for enjoying the Fall colors while they last.  Great for a few last mountain bike rides.  There will be some moisture pushing into Utah during the upcoming week, so we can’t rule out a stray shower, but certainly nothing major.

All eyes continue to be on the trough that will be forming off the PNW coast for the upcoming week.  Looks like a series of wet storms will bring copious rain to the northwest in an AR event.  The question lately has been if/when that moisture would make it far enough south/east to impact Utah.  Right now, both the GFS and Euro models have moisture eventually making it to us sometime next weekend into the following week.  Generally in the October 16-19 range… Really no telling how strong this energy will be or how much cold air will accompany it.  For now, we’ll just have to wait a couple more days for models to hopefully find some agreement.

Until then, enjoy the ideal weather.

P.S.   Ogden Valley Winterfest is coming up on October 21-22 at Nordic Valley.  This is your one stop shop to ignite your winter stoke.  For only $15, you get two day access to food, music, rail jam, ski swap, and most importantly… SIX movie premieres.  List of movies playing at Winterfest:
