We are now well into the Fall season and Utah has seen the beginnings of cooler weather. Temperatures have been bouncing around a bit, but overall the trend is down. This weekend we’ll be warm (hot), especially Sunday, with high temps topping out in the 90s for the valleys and 70s in the high mountains.
Next week, a trough will drop into the Great Basin bringing cooler temperatures and a chance for showers. Nothing major, but it’s possible that the highest peaks could see a few flakes later next week. Overall, September is looking relatively quiet for now. Storms this time of year are possible, but are generally the exception whereas benign weather is still the norm. For mountain biking purposes, I’m hoping we at least get some rain next week to settle the dust on the trails.
Sorry the posts have been few and far between so far, just not enough to talk about quite yet. ENSO neutral or weak La Nina still looks likely, which means virtually nothing for us. Hope for the best this winter! Once we get something solid in the forecast storm-wise, I’ll start more regular posts again.
Until then, get out and enjoy warm weather recreation while you still can. Leaves continue to change color in the high elevations!
