A trailing wave yesterday afternoon and overnight did a very effective job keeping snow going in the Wasatch. Today should be a great powder day throughout Northern Utah. We’ll generally start to clear out now through the weekend with warmer temps. Next chance for snow is late Monday/Tuesday of next week.
If you were at all disappointed with the initial system on Monday/Monday night, mother nature made it up to you with a trailing wave late yesterday into last night that added some additional accumulations. The far northern Wasatch, including Beaver Mountain is now over 2 feet since Sunday night if my math is correct, with 9″ reported since yesterday. Snowbasin and PowMow saw an extra few inches. 4-6″ of additional in Park City today. The Cottonwoods reporting 9-12″ of fresh since yesterday AM with a good portion of that falling after lifts stopped spinning.
In short, today should be awesome!
Snow showers could continue at times today, but generally we are starting to clear out slowly as we head toward the weekend. Weekend should be warm and clear. Next chance for snow looks to be late Monday into Tuesday of next week. At this point, it’s too early to know much about this system and how strong it may be.
