August 18

Monday, August 18:

Yet another monsoonal moisture surge is moving north out of Arizona today.  Thunderstorms and rain showers will be possible in southern Utah tonight with statewide showers and storms on Tuesday.  Atmosphere will be quite moisture-laden, so expect pockets of heavy rain.  We start to dry out on Wednesday with moisture lingering, especially in the mountains, through the end of the week.  An autumn-like trough will pass through the far Northern Rockies late this week and should keep temps in Utah from getting too hot.

El Nino is still in La Nada stage with not much happening on the Sea Surface.  Temps are only slightly above normal right now… Still waiting to see if we can get a weak El Nino going by Fall.
