Not too much new to talk about today…
Main change from yesterday is that the fast-moving front for tomorrow has sped up further. This means the front will likely move through Northern Utah during the day Monday rather than Monday evening. That moves the best skiing up to Monday afternoon rather than Tuesday morning.
Snow levels should not be an issue. Winds, however, should be strong both along and behind the front. Good chance for cold gusty winds to continue all day Monday and Tuesday. This front is lacking moisture and, as already mentioned, fast moving; therefore, amounts will be limited to under 6″, with most locations likely falling in the 2-4″ range above 6,000 feet.
We start to clear out and warm up again late Tuesday into Wednesday. The system for later this week has trended its energy farther north and right now it looks like we’ll be lucky to see anything.
MJO still moving into more favorable territory and long range models continue to show the possibility for a major pattern change toward the end of the month… Until then, Spring conditions exist with only small storms….
