April Faceshots bring May ____ ?

Easterly flow continued to bring snow showers into the area last night.  Wasatch Back, as expected, saw the best (worst ) or it.  PC ridge resorts reporting 17-19″ of New snow!!!!!!  Cottonwoods reporting 12-14″!  PowMow and Snowbasin saw much less with only a few inches up there.  Seems like we did pretty well with this storm.

Snow showers will continue this morning along with colds winds.  It’s hard to guess just how wind packed the snow got last night but my guess is you’ll find areas of wind crust.  You’ll also find nice wind-deposits where the snow is pristine and deep! Enjoy!

We clear out this afternoon into tomorrow with warming temperatures.  Thursday a fast moving system will bring snow above 7,000 ft.  The trend has been slightly stronger with this system but it still looks like only 3-6″ at best.  This weekend a trough will set up for Northern Utah.  GFS keeps the best precip just to our north, but the Euro has been more consistent with colder air and precip stalling over the area on Sunday through Tuesday.  Still a lot of a questions but there is potential for some snow on the 14th (closing day for many resorts) and even more snow in the subsequent days.  Stay tuned . . .

Time for me to go reap (and rip) the benefits of this exiting storm! Who knows? It could be our last epic powder day of the season.

Any idea where we’re at w/ the snowpack right now compared to average?

    • Haven’t looked at most recent numbers. Still well below average unfortunately.
